Pre-Professional Training Program
The Sarasota Ballet School’s Margaret Barbieri Conservatory is an 8-year program especially designed to prepare young aspiring sudents for a career in classical ballet. The Conservatory is overseen by Margaret Barbieri, a former world-renowned Prima Ballerina and Assistant Director of The Sarasota Ballet. Ms. Barbieri is delighted to put her name to The Conservatory and with an exceptional teaching staff committed to artistic excellence, they are taking The Sarasota Ballet School to a further level of excellence.
Students receive an intensive training in ballet technique, pointe, variations and pas de deux as well as modern, character, flamenco, music, injury prevention and nutrition. They have the privilege of taking master classes by international teachers and choreographers who set works on The Sarasota Ballet. The Conservatory is committed to achieving the highest possible standards of excellence while having the greatest respect for the individual as a person and as an artist.
Students to the Conservatory are accepted by audition only. These selected young dancers train 6 days a week in an intimate, demanding and performance-based environment.
