Alexei was born in Kourgan, in the Ural Mountains. In 1996, Alexei graduated with honors from the Perm State Choreographic School of Perm, Russia. Following graduation, he performed as a Soloist with the Cheliabinsk Theater of Opera and Ballet. In 1997, he joined the Grigorovich Ballet Theater and toured in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Japan, Germany, Great Britain and the United States. In 2000 and 2002, Alexei was awarded Laureate of the Philip Morris International Ballet Competition. In 2004, Alexei joined the Sarasota Ballet.
Repertoire
While with the Sarasota ballet Alexei has danced in SwanLake, La Boutique Fantasque, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Anne Frank, Satanilla, and Hommage á Chopin. He has also performed in Hans Van Manen’s GrosseFuge, David Bintley’s Scottish Dances, George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante and the nephew in Robert de Warren’s The Nutcracker. He has also performed in Sir Frederick Ashton’s Façade & The Two Pigeons and in Dame Ninette De Valois’s Checkmate & The Rake’s Progress where he performed as The Rake’s Friend/A Card Player. He also performed in the Russian dance and as Levin in Andre Prokovsky’s Anna Karenina. He also has danced in the Le Corsaire Pas de Trois and in John Cranko's Pineapple Poll as the Red Sailor.
