Sarasota Ballet Summer Intensive Program Our summer intensive progam faculty includes Company and School Faculty of the Sarasota Ballet along with world-renowned guest instructors.All classes are carefully graded by technical ability and physical strength. Students will be placed at their appropriate levels at the opening of the program. The curriculum for each level has been created to be the most advantageous to each student at his or her own stage of development. The emphasis of the program is strongly placed on ballet with supplementary classes in pointe, variations, modern, jazz, and character. Video Audition Form Registration Form Payment Form 2010 Summer Session Schedule:Summer Session I: June 21-July 17Ages 9 through pre-professional. Upper Division is Intermediate-Advanced levels with prior training on pointe. Classes are 9:30-5:00 Monday-Friday and 10:00-1:30 on Saturdays. Lower Division is Beginner-Intermediate levels and do not need to be on pointe. (This group may have a shorter day, and may not need to be there on Saturdays.) There is a performance for both Divisions on July 17. Summer Session II:July 12-July 31 Ages 13 though pre-professional. Advanced levels only with prior training on pointe Classes are 9:30-5:00 Monday-Friday and 10:00-1:30 on Saturdays. There is a performance on July 31. Upon acceptance into the program, students are asked to return the registration form with a non-refundable $300 deposit applicable to the full tuition; plus $300 deposit for housing if required. Summer Session I Upper Division: $2,000 (Abbreviated Session(s): $500 per week) Summer Session II Lower Division: $1600 (Abbreviated Session(s): $400 Summer Session II: $1,500; No abbreviated sessions. Housing is available at a local hotel with a chaperone. Although, you are allowed to find your own housing. T-shirt $20; Video $20 Curriculum (Intermediate-Advanced Levels)Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Repertoire, Modern, Composition, Jazz, Character, Stretch andmini-workshops will be held on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, and dance history, etc. Advanced students will be able to participate in Pas de Duex classes as well. Curriculum (Elementary Levels)Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Stretch and mini-workshops will be held on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition and dance history, etc.HousingHousing facilities are available at a local hotel. Students will be chaperoned both on campus and on field trips to various places in the community. Housing costs will be available at a later date.AuditionsPlease refer to the Audition List for possible dates and locations.Audition Fee: $25 if you are registering at the door. (Pre-Registration Fee: $20.00. Your Registration Form and Fee must be received by January 5th in order to reserve your place.) All students:Girls wear pink footed tights, black leotard, pink ballet shoes and hair in a bun. Bring pointe shoes if applicable.Boys wear black tights or shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet shoes. Bring two photos, one headshot and one in first arabesque. Video SubmissionsVideo Auditions are accepted.
