The first half of Program Three is defined by “a series of small paintings or sketches that are inspired by the music,” according to Within the Golden Hour choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. The Company premiere finds its influence from Gustav Klimt’s luminous gold paintings and the somewhat haunting tune of Ezzio Bosso’s score, thus leading to a shimmering abstraction that still finds a heartfelt narrative at its center.

Turning to Bohemian Paris, the program explores themes of love and forgiveness with Sir Frederick Ashton’s The Two Pigeons. A romantic yet deeply human story, a wayward young man leaves his fiancée to experience the wider world, only to return seeking forgiveness. Premiered originally on Valentine’s Day, the ballet finds its emotional heart when the lovers—or the “two pigeons”—reunite for the better, capturing warmth, humor, and the multi-faceted nature of love.

Repertoire will include:

Within the Golden Hour (Company Premiere) | Choreography by Christopher Wheeldon | Music by Ezio Bosso & Antonio Vivaldi
