Paul Taylor Dance Company
Alongside our own performances and premieres, The Sarasota Ballet has a history of presenting a visiting dance company each Season; previous companies include the Martha Graham Dance Company, Ballet Hispánico, Smuin Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem. Continuing this tradition of sorts, The Sarasota Ballet is pleased to present the return of the Paul Taylor Dance Company for its fifth Program, opening 28 February 2020 at the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. A modern dance institution established by its namesake, choreographer Paul Taylor, in 1954, the company has long been one of the world’s most esteemed and in-demand dance groups. With a vast repertoire of Taylor-choreographed productions, the Paul Taylor Dance Company has been widely acclaimed as a key component of the world of American modern dance.
“The American spirit soars whenever Taylor’s dancers dance.” – San Francisco Chronicle
